Welcome to Colossyan!
This article is here to help you get started with our AI video platform, with a
step-by-step guide that covers Colossyan's main functionalities.
Now, the first step is:
1. Start by creating a video draft
Your "video draft" is where you'll be creating the video.
Once you click on " + New draft", you'll see different options for creating your video.
Upload document
If you have an existing document or presentation you'd like to use, you can upload it into Colossyan. To repurpose your existing slides, select the "Import" option. If you'd like AI to generate scripts and slides based on your document’s content, choose the "Document-to-Video" option.
Instant Avatar
To create a video featuring yourself as the avatar (and speak in 30+ languages with voice cloning), use the "Instant Avatar" feature to instantly create your avatar. If this option isn't available to you, it may not be enabled on your account. In that case, contact your success manager to enable it.
Start from Scratch
If you prefer to create a video from a blank canvas, select the "Start from Scratch" option to build your video from the ground up.
Templates
If you'd rather begin with a pre-designed layout, choose one of our templates to help with the video design.
Prompt-to-Video
Lastly, if you want to generate a complete video from a specific text prompt, use our "Prompt-to-Video" feature.
2. Write your script
To add narration to your scene, simply type in your text into the script box on the left.
Keep it natural, and preview the audio to review how your script will sound.
Remember to assign avatars to each part of your script — you can either pick an avatar, or select "Narration only". The avatar selector is right by the voice selector, as seen below.
Different part of your scripts can be narrated by different avatars and voices in case you want to simulate conversations.
For a more natural delivery, make sure to add pauses between paragraphs.
The AI assistant can help you with the content.
Use the pronunciation feature if you have any acronyms.
And finally, you can also upload an audio file instead of a written script.
3. Select your avatar
You can select and even create new avatars in the top "Avatars" tab.
Some avatars will have special features, such as hand gestures or
side view — you can find them by using the filters on the left.
If you want to create scenes with realistic conversations with avatars turned towards each other, use side view avatars.
You can add up to 4 avatars in one scene.
Most of our avatars have shoulder, body and bubble views — we recommend shoulder view, but you can choose whichever view suits your video the most.
If you'd like to use yourself as the avatar, you can either create an Instant Avatar (using your phone) or a Custom Studio Avatar (in a professional studio).
No one will have access to your personal avatars except for you.
4. Pick and preview a voice
With 600+ voices and instant voice cloning in multiple languages, you've got plenty of options to choose from.
Select your language and accent, and pick the voice that resonates with you the most — or best matches the avatar.
Some voices have additional features, such as emotion control — you can filter them out in the "Other" tab.
You can select your favorite voices to always have them at the top.
If you'd like to use your own voice for text-to-speech, you can clone your voice from a quick voice recording, and use it in 30+ different languages.
5. Design your scenes
Our templates can help you with the design part, but of course, you have total freedom over your videos' visual design and layouts.
You can use our media library to find stock locations, images, videos and icons.
You can also upload your own media files, from images to videos and logos. Make sure to review the list of supported file types.
To build dynamic videos, use animations.
Get creative with shapes.
You can also include existing videos.
Create a cohesive video by adding background music and transitions.
Enterprise creators can also upload brand kits, which help with consistency.
5.1 Interactivity
You can add multiple-choice questions and branching paths to your videos to make them interactive.
Interactive videos can be shared, embedded, or, if you're on the Enterprise plan, exported as SCORM files. They cannot be downloaded as MP4 videos.
You can find all interactive options in the "Interactivity" menu at the top.
5.2 Automatic translation
Use the auto-translation feature to create language variants of your video.
To instantly translate your video, click on "Default" in the top right corner and select your language variant.
The automatic translation may not produce "perfect" results, but it can save you time by instantly creating a version of your video in a different language.
Almost there! Choose the resolution you need, and start generating your video.
You can add subtitles if needed.
Use Folders to keep your videos organized.
7. Invite your team to your workspace
If you'd like to get feedback from your team or ask a colleague to help you with a video, you can easily invite them to your workspace.
You can have unlimited viewers in your Workspace.
You can have up to 3 editors in Pro and a custom number of editors in Enterprise.
Once your teammate joins, you can choose their role (Editor or Viewer).
8. Download or share your video
You'll get an email once your video generation is complete; you'll be able to find it in the "Generated videos" section of your home page.
When your video is done generating, you can download it, share it or embed it.
If you need any help with your generated video, click on "Report issue" under the video.
That's it!
